National logistics companies and their storages are in that moment, when they have to exploit a brand new science achievements if they want to keep position in their type of industry. Of course, enormous enterprises have new equipment for more valuable and advanced agreements and orders and older, used machines for less beneficial duties. Smaller concerens have to use only new tools to be competitive.

Lifting equipment is primary machine in all harbors and high bay storehouses. Leading ports in Poland like Port of Gdańsk or Port of Gdynia with Gdynia and Gdańsk shipyards and big storages in main part of country are usinga lot of devices allowed to use by polish law. First of them are cranes. In usual use we have three general types: overhead, mobile and fixed. First one is mainly used inside warehouses. It can be remotely operated by worker with permission.

Last one is called fixed. They are the highest and can lift the heaviest stock. It is use outside because of its size. Second type of lifting equipment is gantry crane. Commonly used in ports and railway terminal to storing and stowing goods. First one was made of stone and wood by Germans and located in Danzig (nowadays it is polish town called Gdańsk) and it was built-it inside city fences. Today gantry cranes are always set with clear place inside. Because of that they are named portal cranes.

Last one, used inside, are configured with storage ERP systems an automated storage and retrieval system. It is totally automatic and could be used to locating, retrieving and replacing objects in horizontal and vertical route. With the highest grade of upgrate they can be used just in one way (only horizontal or vertical) or in a few routes at the same time.

Without this devices loading and unloading big container boats may be really time-consuming and costly. Investing in new technologies have to be the main part in budgets of logistics companies, storages and ports.
