You stay in your house and suddenly hear a ring at the door-bell. You are quite surprised as you don’t expect anybody. You open the door and you notice friends that apparently make up their mind to pay you an unannounced visit. You haven’t seen them for a while so you are glad they are here. But at the same time, you desperately try to come up with anything you could treat your guest with. You are sure you don’t have all ingredients to prepare something nice to eat now.

And what is even more important – you don’t have much time as they are already here. Certainly, they cannot expect you to be ready for an unexpected visit. On the contrary, it would be so much nicer to offer something tasty to eat.

I am convinced you know this feeling. I have had that situation many times previously. Therefore, I make up my mind to do something to change that.
Nevertheless, there was always one big problem about having “emergency” snacks – snacks pellet. I have 2 kids so they always eat snacks right away after I purchase them. I was trying to hide them for a while but all parents know how laughable it is and that teenagers always manage to find snacks anyway. It doesn’t matter where you hide it. Subsequently, when unannounced visitors arrive, I still had no snacks to offer to my guests.

One time my colleague has visited. When we were having a coffee, I was trying to locate previously hidden chocolate. At the beginning she laughed at me but later on she came up with an excellent concept I hadn’t thought about before. She mentioned snackpellet. Why was it so good for me? Because they are semi-finished products. I store it in the kitchen and I am sure that it is still there when needed – when unannounced guests show up. My children don’t have it right after buying, as it was with other snacks previously. Why? If they want to have snack pellet, they have to cook it first – snackpellet.

And they simply don’t cook if they don’t have to. They are constanty happy to grab already prepared snacks, but if they must cook them on their own – they are not so happy anymore. For me it is even superior – thanks to the fact that I should prepare snack pellet before serving it to my guests, I can offer them not only fresh but also warm snack. What is even better, it takes me just a few minutes to make it ready!
